Mysteries

It’s just tears and rain..

A mystery is something that baffles understanding and cannot be explained. :| It makes people curious. It makes people wonder why or how such and such a thing happens. Mysteries make life more interesting. It adds spice to our rather dull lives. :)

Personally, I’m of the opinion that if we know everything that there’s to know out there, life would be predictable. Predictability, ladies and gentlemen, is boring. Just imagine living life without ever wondering about anything. :? No “Why is the sky blue?”, no “Who’s that hot girl/guy?”. Nothing. Wouldn’t that be boring? ;)

Well, since I’m on the topic of mysteries, I’ve been wondering about a couple of things lately. I’ve observed these ‘mysteries’ time and time again. But each time I attempt to find a logical explanation, stupidity ensues. I just can’t seem to explain these ‘mysteries’. Thus, ladies and gentlemen, I turn to you for your help. Who knows- maybe, just maybe someone knows.

Just 2 questions.

  1. In Brunei, why does when a car breaks down and when the owner decides to leave it there, he/she will stick 2 or 3 branches at the rear of the car? Is this some sort of universally accepted way of telling people that the car is busted? Ehhh.. How come I don’t know?
  2. Why do Bruneians make fun (a.k.a. feel embarassed) of Kampong Ayer amongst themselves but when a foreigner asks about Kampong Ayer, he/she suddenly becomes proud of Kampong Ayer?

On a totally unrelated note, ‘third-hand smoke’ exists! Apparently, ‘third-hand smoke’ is that smell that some ladies find so attractive and irresistible in guys. I think it’s called ’smoker’s perfume’. Well, researchers are saying that it’s harmful. Isn’t that crazy? Smoking kills, inhaling second-hand smoke kills and now, even smelling like cigarettes can kill.

Answers to ur questions:

1) Yup, mostly bruneian simpan 2-3 branches as a sign the car atu broke-down. Pasal nada ada pakai to buat sign yg steady “Kereta Saya Ani Rosak” esp time d highway… or the silly side of me thinkin’ that they just want to becucuk tanam by decorating with the branches to their cars…asteee…..duh! *chali..Not! Lame…Yes!*

2) Aku suka kpg ayer now coz a bit cleaner than dulu-dulu kala…*now i dont know what else to say, fiz….* =s

Hehe… branches at the rear of the car… Dulu2 pun udah ku pikirkan Y. Rupanya emergency signal won’t light up kalau engine kereta mati… hehe cara manual is to stick branches at the rear…. haha kenapa inda seluruh pokok d simpan belakang kreta, so nada lagi alasan org nda nampak kreta a2.

SHY: Hebat!! :D Ini adalah penjelasan yang paling logic yg telah ku dengar~ Hehe.. :)

I heard lagi, nya org tua-tua, supaya kereta nda kena tunu. Tapi tu mcm nda logic. Mcm banar jua tu ah, if engine mati- emergency light mana mau!
